The main aims and
objectives of the first conference on photonic crystals in the Southern
Hemisphere is to bring together scientists and students from different
universities and laboratories in Australia and the key overseas experts
in the field of photonic crystals, in order to promote this new field,
to enhance its development in Australia and facilitate the emergence
of new technologies in our country. The Conference is planned to be
combined with focused tutorial sessions where the leading experts
in the field will present overview-style lectures on the photonic
crystal physics, engineering and technology.
The Sir Mark Oliphant International Frontiers of Science and Technology
Conference Series is funded by the Commonwealth Department
of Education, Science and Training, as a component of the
Government's Innovation Access Program
